This blog belongs to Alex Maclinovsky – a two decade veteran of the Technology campaigns, innovation connoisseur and a self-proclaimed scourge of conventional wisdom. This is my second attempt to keep a blog, hence sapienti sat 2.0. I started its predecessor when I was at a company formally known as Sun Microsystems and it quickly gained small but rather loyal following. I lost access to it when I left Sun in 2008. Then I found myself working for an employer who did not condone blogging or any other form of disseminating information about technology or anything else even remotely relevant to its business so I had to kick the writing habit. Now I am free of those restrictions and this time around I decided to host the blog myself, so unless I once more find myself under some form of gag order you can expect to read my musings here for years to come.
The area of my interests have widened in the last couple of years, so in addition to SOA, Governance and Security, I intend to write about Cloud Computing and Storage, Internet Scale (105 – 106 nodes) Systems, Infrastructure Monitoring and Automation, Semantics and whatever else I find being drawn into. I hope to keep the style and quality level the same, so there might be an occasional hiatus – please do not despair.
